When you think of playing video games, a fully-produced event might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But that’s exactly what happens every year at Gamers Outreach‘s Gamers for Giving event.

The organization is committed to raising money to provide children in hospitals with mobile gaming carts. These help children who have long stays take their minds off of the reason they may be there. Gamers Outreach helps almost half a million kids per year!

Once they started gaining traction, they wanted to create an event that would draw in donations, so came along Gamers for Giving. Gamers from all over the country gather in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and hold a LAN party, which is also streamed over the internet. If you’re not familiar with gaming, don’t worry, Zach Wigal, founder of the non-profit, describes the event and Bluewater’s involvement below!
