How does a spooktacular forest become a sparkling winter escape? The Glenlore Trails seasonal transformation takes just 10 days, plenty of planning, and a whole lot of teamwork.
After CarnEvil 2 closes, the team gets to work preparing the trail for Aurora: Winter Wizards. Halloween props make way for holiday creations, while familiar spaces become part of a new adventure.
We asked Chanel, Co-Founder of Glenlore Trails, for a peek behind the scenes.
Out With the Spooky, In With the Sparkly
“We pack away all of our Halloween props and bring out our handmade holiday creations to completely transform the trail,” Chanel explains.
However, the change goes beyond decorations. The creative and development team also creates new content for several interactive activations. During changeover, the team swaps in that content to help bring the winter experience to life.
As Chanel puts it: “Same magical forest, entirely new adventure.”

A 10-Day Changeover, Months in the Making
While the trail transformation happens quickly, preparations begin months earlier.
The team works with vendors to order holiday greenery before the first Halloween guest even walks the trail. That early planning helps make the short changeover possible.
Then comes the hands-on work: packing away props, adding garland and wreaths, installing lights, and preparing the trail for returning guests.
“It’s basically our own version of Santa’s workshop, just with a much tighter deadline!” Chanel says.
A New Season of Holiday Magic
For Chanel, Aurora’s appeal comes from all the details working together: crisp winter air, twinkling lights, holiday music created by the team, and a visit from Santa.
There may even be a little snowfall, if the weather cooperates.
“It’s one of my favorite times of the year, and I can’t wait for our guests to experience it!”
The Glenlore Trails seasonal transformation gives guests a fresh reason to return. Behind every sparkling scene is a team turning months of preparation into holiday magic.
