Basketball courts are no longer just hardwood and hoops — they’re becoming canvases for immersive brand storytelling and fan engagement. LED basketball courts are pushing the boundaries of what a sports space can be, transforming traditional courts into high-impact environments that blend interactive technology, digital content, and bold visual design. From fully interactive LED floors to hybrid installations with synchronized lighting and dynamic video content, these courts offer a playground for innovation.

At Bluewater, we’ve seen firsthand how LED basketball courts can energize fans, elevate brand activations, and redefine what it means to play. Here’s a look at four unique takes on the LED court — each designed to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience.

AT&T Fan Zone at WNBA Live

To celebrate the energy of the WNBA, AT&T teamed up with Bluewater to design a tech-forward Fan Zone at WNBA Live in Las Vegas. The standout feature? A basketball court surrounded by immersive LED screens that responded to player motion and gameplay. The environment was crafted not just to impress, but to invite — welcoming fans of all ages to step onto the court and take part in digital shooting games, interactive challenges, and branded experiences that lived beyond the physical.

By pairing LED perimeter screens with overhead lighting and sensory-driven games, the installation merged sports and storytelling in a way that felt fresh, inclusive, and undeniably fun.

Foot Locker’s Home Court Experience

Foot Locker took the concept of a home court to the next level — literally — with a mobile pop-up featuring a full LED basketball floor. This experiential setup brought retail and sport together in a fully gamified environment. The court reacted to player movement, tracked scoring, and immersed participants in animated brand visuals that shifted with every step or shot.

This was more than a game — it was a performance space. Whether participants were sinking threes or simply standing in the spotlight, the experience made them feel like part of the brand’s world. The combination of tech, style, and swagger captured the essence of Foot Locker’s audience perfectly.

AT&T Fan Zone at Final Four Fan Fest

For the NCAA Final Four Fan Fest, AT&T once again partnered with Bluewater to create a destination-worthy Fan Zone. This version leaned into the scale of the event, incorporating a traditional court setup enhanced with bold LED elements: a central scoring tower, dynamic content loops, and brand messaging across the entire space.

Rather than replacing the hardwood, this activation emphasized how LED elements can enhance a traditional court. With seating areas, photo ops, and mini competitions, the space became a holistic brand experience — one that didn’t need a full LED floor to shine.

Mountain Dew Courtside Studios

Blending basketball culture with music and style, Mountain Dew Courtside Studios brought a different flavor to the LED court concept. This half-court installation was more about vibe than competition — a place to shoot, dance, and create content. Using projection mapping and LED lighting, the court responded to audio cues and featured a built-in content capture studio.

This was a prime example of how LED courts don’t need to center on athleticism — they can double as creative studios, performance spaces, or brand theaters. In this case, the court became an evolving stage for self-expression and social sharing.

The Future of LED Courts: More Than Just a Game

As these activations show, LED basketball courts are incredibly versatile. They’re not just about tech for tech’s sake — they’re strategic tools for engagement, allowing brands to craft moments that connect emotionally and visually with their audiences.

Whether it’s driving foot traffic at a fan fest, creating buzz on social media, or building loyalty through immersive play, LED courts are becoming essential in the experiential marketing playbook. And the variations — from full LED floors to integrated screens and motion-sensitive lighting — show just how customizable this technology can be.

At Bluewater, we’re proud to help bring these courts to life — designing, building, and powering the tech that makes unforgettable experiences possible. If you’re ready to reimagine the court as more than just a game space, let’s talk.
