A Historic Detroit Setting in a New Light
Elmwood Alight gave visitors a completely different way to experience one of Detroit’s historic spaces.
Throughout the grounds, light transformed the landscape and highlighted the work of local artists. Guests explored installations outdoors, experienced music inside the historic chapel and took in the atmosphere of Elmwood after dark.
Lighting and audio played important roles throughout the experience. Together, they helped shape the environment while allowing the cemetery’s architecture, landscape and history to remain part of the story.

Helping Bring Elmwood Alight to Life
Projects like Elmwood Alight demonstrate how technology can transform a familiar setting and change the way people experience it.
Bluewater provided lighting and audio support for the event, working alongside the artists, designers, producers, technicians, musicians and partners who made it possible.
The second annual Elmwood Alight welcomed more than 2,000 guests during its sold-out three-night run.

Creating Immersive Experiences After Dark
From immersive experiences like Glenlore Trails to live events and temporary installations, thoughtful lighting and audio can reshape a space and create an entirely new atmosphere after dark.
For three nights, Elmwood Cemetery became an illuminated world filled with art, music and community. It was a memorable way to welcome spooky season in Detroit, and Bluewater was proud to play a part in the experience.
