Aesthetically pleasing, functionally sound.

At Bluewater, creativity is at the core of everything we do. Whether solving unique challenges or breaking the mold to connect with new audiences, we always seek innovative ways to make an impact.

When brainstorming how to engage with potential clients in a meaningful, memorable way, we wanted to go beyond the traditional marketing mailers or email campaigns. Instead, we set out to create something that would truly stand out—something bold, exciting, and impossible to ignore.

We knew we needed an outreach method that embodied our brand’s personality while delivering a message of innovation and craftsmanship. Traditional promotional items wouldn’t cut it. Instead, we looked at ways to combine storytelling with a tangible, high-quality product that clients would want to keep.

Inspired by our love for creativity (and music), we decided to craft a completely custom, playable guitar—one shaped like the Bluewater logo and named after our beloved office dog, Kaiya.

The Kaiyacaster was born—a one-of-a-kind, functional piece of art designed to captivate, inspire, and showcase our fabrication expertise. But we didn’t just customize an off-the-shelf product. Instead, we built the guitars from the ground up, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and top-tier playability.

We also wanted the Kaiyacaster to tell a story, so we documented the entire journey—from pencil sketches to final assembly—giving each recipient a glimpse into the craftsmanship and creativity that went into their limited-edition guitar.

The creation process unfolded in several stages:

  • Concept & Design: We started with a hand-drawn sketch, which was then digitized into a vector file. After four prototype iterations, we fine-tuned the build quality, adjusting measurements and refining the model in 3D.
  • Precision Manufacturing: Once finalized, the guitar bodies were CNC-milled from MDF or veneer core plywood for durability and sound quality.
  • Finishing Touches: The MDF bodies were coated in vibrant candy-colored catalyzed paint in five different combinations, while the veneer core bodies received a high-gloss clear coat.
  • Assembly & Quality Control: Each guitar was fitted with custom strap hooks, machined tuning pegs, Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings, and all necessary electronics to create a fully functional 22-fret instrument.

The Kaiyacaster was more than just a marketing piece—it became an unforgettable conversation starter. Recipients were immediately drawn to the craftsmanship and unique design, strengthening their connection with Bluewater. Whether hung as an art piece or played as a functional instrument, the Kaiyacaster symbolized the creativity and innovation that define our brand.

With the Kaiyacaster, we transformed client engagement into an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience. This project wasn’t just about building guitars—it was about demonstrating our ability to bring bold ideas to life.
