Setting the Stage for a Lasting Partnership

For years, the Carhartt Global Sales Meeting has been a standout event thanks to a trusted partnership with Bluewater’s live events team. With thoughtful planning, innovative technology, and a focus on flawless execution, each year’s meeting raises the bar, bringing people together, inspiring teams, and delivering memorable moments. This case study takes a closer look at how Bluewater has brought this meeting to life year after year through creativity, collaboration, and dedication.

When Carhartt hosted their 2018 fall global sales meeting they realized they had an opportunity to try something different; invite the entire company together to share in the messaging and excitement of the day. As they planned for the increased attendance they realized there would be some new challenges to overcome. With six to seven hundred people now attending, they knew they needed to think about their stage design and technology needs a bit differently or the message might not be well communicated.

Carhartt decided to look outside for help. Their team met with Bluewater to review the objectives for the event and discuss what could be done to elevate the experience for the increased attendees. This new format came with high stakes on what future events might look like.

“I think that was my 35th sales meeting since I’ve been with Carhartt. I’ve never been to one like that before and I don’t think that would have been possible without Bluewater.”

In 2018, Bluewater & Carhartt collaborated on stage designs, coming up with a sleek industrial-inspired design that fit the tone of the brand. A flexible stage set allowed for executives to comfortably present, presentation materials to be creatively played back, and also transitioned easily for interactive segments that brought staff on stage.

One such segment was “The Newlythread Game,” which is an absolutely fantastic example of how brands can keep their audience’s attention, and elevate the overall event experience with just a little commitment of time and a bit of creativity.

Bluewater brought the entire stage design to life ensuring that the day’s message would be delivered to a larger audience. Large-format displays, sound reinforcement, image magnification of the presenters, presentation playback, lighting, and some custom scenic elements all played into ensuring that the message was sent, and more importantly, received.

After the success of 2018, Bluewater has had the honor of being a part of the annual Carhartt Global Sales Meeting for six consecutive years.

In 2022, Carhartt was excited for the chance to bring their team home to their new headquarters after a long time of not seeing each other in person due to the pandemic.  As they planned their global sales meeting they needed to figure out the best way to utilize their new space to deliver a successful sales meeting to around 200 attendees. The multi-day event included a leadership presentation, multiple breakout sessions and a few fun events sprinkled in between!

The main meeting room where the leadership presentation would take place was outfitted with a main stage and multiple monitors set up throughout the room. This ensured that all attendees had a great view of the presentation no matter where they were seated.

There was also an outdoor area set up right outside the meeting room with a tent, seating, games and more. Everything from the balloons to the games were custom branded for Carhartt. The meeting attendees had a great time mingling in this entertaining space which was designed and set up by our team.

Bluewater helped take the annual meeting to the next level by offering it in a hybrid format through our platform, Parallel. Our team collaborated with Carhartt to create an engaging, interactive experience that seamlessly connected in-person and virtual attendees. This hybrid platform enabled Carhartt to share the latest product launches and sales initiatives with their team, regardless of location.

The platform allowed participants to easily navigate different sections, including speaker bios, the event schedule, downloadable resources, and more. A virtual main stage featured live and on-demand content, giving attendees full access to presentations and ensuring that no one missed out on essential updates.

Bluewater was thrilled to help bring the entire multi-day event to life by taking the lead on planning and implementing the event. Our team went above and beyond to make this meeting a success. In addition to managing the full technical production, Bluewater also helped with the Décor design & coordination, vendor sourcing, budgeting, sponsorship management, itinerary creation, and more! We kept our crew on standby the entire time to make sure the event went as smoothly as possible, and the objectives of the meeting were met!

In 2024, Bluewater supported Carhartt’s annual event with two key productions: a main stage presentation at their headquarters and an award show at the historic Gem Theatre.
