Bluewater teamed up with Granger Construction, Integrated Design Solutions, and Jack Porter to integrate the latest AV technology into Michigan State University’s new Tom Izzo Football Building. This new state-of-the-art facility focuses on a transformative experience of player development through three primary areas:
- Performance: Featuring an expanded 19,000-square-foot weight room, a sports science area, and multiple nutrition stations.
- Rest and Recovery: Incorporating renovated athletic training areas and recovery modalities.
- Enhanced Social Experience: Including a new player locker room, lounge, and Nike Gear Lab
This project was a team effort with Granger Construction as the General Contractor. Integrated Design Solutions (IDS) handled the design aspects, while Bluewater supplied and integrated the AV elements. Bluewater was subcontracted by Jack Porter, an agency responsible for the content displayed on the LED wall in the lobby and the touch screens in the gear lab.
Bluewater partnered with Granger Construction, Integrated Design Solutions (IDS), and Jack Porter to bring this vision to life. As the AV technology integrator, Bluewater played a key role in delivering cutting-edge solutions tailored to the facility’s unique needs.

One significant challenge was managing numerous change orders. Our team demonstrated exceptional adaptability and efficiency, ensuring we kept up with the changes without compromising on quality or timelines. The ultimate measure of our success was the satisfaction of our client, Michigan State University. The feedback from both Granger Construction and MSU was overwhelmingly positive, with praise for the project’s outcome and our team’s professionalism:
“The dedication that your field team put into the project is admirable. If anyone on the Granger team had a question or concern, your team was always available to listen and respond accordingly. Our team always appreciated the attitude of, ‘I don’t know, but I will check and get back to you,’—and then that happened. We never had to worry about follow-up with Bluewater’s work items—a huge trust builder for our team. Granger and MSU were kept extremely well-informed of successes and challenges alike.” —Granger Construction
