The Tom Izzo Football Building at Michigan State University has been honored with the 2025 Build Michigan Award by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Michigan. The $67.75 million renovation and expansion didn’t just modernize MSU’s football program—it redefined it. The building includes a 19,000-square-foot weight room, sports science and recovery areas, nutrition stations, and an enhanced locker room experience, all tailored to support athlete development and well-being.
The project team also overcame a unique challenge: construction took place while the facility remained partially in use. Meticulous planning and coordination were essential to maintaining athlete safety and project momentum.
