Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Michigan’s classrooms and collaboration spaces hadn’t seen upgrades since 2015. With team-based learning (TBL) becoming the standard, their existing technology no longer met their needs. The school needed intuitive, flexible systems that could support both in-room collaboration and remote participants—without adding complexity to the teaching experience.
Partnering for a Smarter Upgrade
To meet these evolving needs, Bluewater partnered closely with WMed’s leadership and IT team. Through collaborative planning sessions, product testing, and careful timeline management, we co-developed a design strategy that would modernize four critical spaces: two TBL classrooms, a boardroom, and the auditorium. By aligning on goals early and leveraging WMed’s input throughout, we ensured that upgrades would balance innovation with practicality, reusing legacy equipment where possible to maximize cost-effectiveness.
