When homeowners review architectural drawings, it can be difficult to truly understand how a space will feel once built. To bridge the gap between design plans and real-world perception, TK Design partnered with Bluewater to create an immersive visualization environment that allows clients to walk through their future homes at full scale.
Bluewater engineered and installed a projection system that displays 1:1 room layouts directly onto the floor, enabling homeowners to experience the true size and layout of spaces before construction begins.
Helping Clients Visualize Space Before It’s Built
TK Design frequently encountered a common issue in residential design: clients approved plans on paper but felt spaces were too small or disproportioned once construction began. This often led to costly rework, delayed timelines, and dissatisfied homeowners.
The goal was to create a solution that would allow clients to physically walk through projected layouts of closets, bathrooms, living rooms, and other spaces—eliminating guesswork and increasing confidence before construction starts.
An Immersive Floor Projection System
Bluewater designed a ceiling-mounted, edge-blended projection system that creates a seamless, large-scale image across the floor of TK Design’s warehouse space. This setup allows clients to step into a projected floor plan and experience the scale and flow of rooms in real time.
Key Technology Components
- Six Epson EB-PU1006W 6,000-lumen laser projectors with short-throw lenses for high-brightness, floor-based projection
- Edge blending across six projectors to create a single continuous image
- Crestron DM Lite transmitters and receivers for reliable 4K signal distribution over CATx
- Netgear managed PoE+ network switch for system connectivity and control
- Chief projector mounting hardware and truss integration for precise alignment and stability

Real-World Visualization for Better Decisions
With the immersive projection system, TK Design can now project rooms at true scale, allowing homeowners to physically walk through their future spaces. This experience helps clients better understand spatial relationships and reduces the likelihood of post-approval design changes.
“This allows our clients to see the real size of rooms before we build them, so there are no surprises once construction begins.”
— Fernando A. Nunez
Projection System Setup and Technical Considerations
- Precision alignment: Aligning six projectors for seamless edge blending required detailed calibration and fine-tuning.
- Hardware synchronization: The system requires a Matrox sync card to ensure projector synchronization for smooth, unified visuals.
- Future-ready design: The system is scalable and can support additional visualization tools or interactive software as TK Design’s process evolves.
Project Outcomes and Future Opportunities
The TK Design immersive visualization environment transforms how clients experience architectural plans—shifting from abstract drawings to tangible, walkable spaces. This technology-driven approach positions TK Design at the forefront of residential design visualization and enhances client confidence, satisfaction, and decision-making.
Bluewater will continue supporting commissioning, optimization, and future content capture, including a sizzle reel to showcase the system in action.
