“One Great Movie Can Change You: Just Great Movies”
People come from all over the world to visit the gem that is Traverse City, Michigan. The city boasts small town charm but is not without big city culture. Feeding into both of these identities is the Traverse City Film Festival (TCFF), held in July every year since 2005.
TCFF hopes to preserve the magic of the movie — one of America’s true indigenous art forms — by bringing people together for a unique viewing experience. Bluewater has been part of this journey since its inception, and continues to participate year-after-year as the Festival continues to grow.
Each year Bluewater provides audio and staging for at least five different venues throughout downtown Traverse City, transforming them into world class movie theaters for the week of the event. On top of this, in 2016, for the first showing of Michael Moore’s “Where to Invade Next,” Bluewater provided a live streaming of the movie around the world, and facilitated a video Q&A session between the United States and five other countries.
Working with other Michigan companies is always a thrill for us, but helping an organization better communicate, to more readily share their vision with the world, is really an honor.
