Using fashion to raise money & awareness for science research.
In 1996, Jay and Betty Van Andel founded the Van Andel Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They had a vision to bring the life sciences to the center of the city. Today the Institute is at the forefront of research and science education. To further this vision, in 2006, the founders’ daughter-in-law Carol Van Andel created an event called Couture for a Cure.
The event is a fashion show, and all proceeds go towards science education, cancer, and Parkinson’s research. This year marked the 11th annual event, all of which Bluewater has been a proud supporter of. To pull off this event, the Bluewater team builds a 136’ runway and provides all of the necessary lighting and audio to bring the runway to life.
Couture for a Cure is a sold-out event year after year, and our team loves being able to continue to support it. Creating a fresh experience for such a positive cause every year is something that moves us!
