Adidas leverages tech to create a traveling experience for millennials
If you haven’t tried on a pair of the Adidas shoes with boost, you’re really missing out! Boost is Adidas latest shoe-tech, providing an energy returning foam midsole that changes the experience of.. well, anything you enjoy doing in athletic shoes. To help promote the new boost product line and educate target markets on the new performance enhancing feature, Adidas and agency Match Marketing Group put together a unique dome pop-up and set out on a 14-stop Fall tour.
In addition to providing a chance to get time with the new shoes, a number of activations were created to provide a richer experience with the brand. One of those experiences was Boost Your Selfie. This activation provided a branded photo + lead generation opportunity for Adidas. The image treatment for this activation was unique, and very specific – it had to resemble the actual boost material as closely as possible. To achieve this a 3D particle effect was mapped to the outline of each participant, and then an overlay texture applied to complete the final composite. The Bluewater ShareBot platform was then leveraged to provide data capture, photo retrieval mechanics, and activation analytics.
